How to configure a specific event to be sent via email

L0 Member

Hi Guys,

How would I go about configuring my PA to email me everytime another device with the same IP address of the Palo Alto joins the network, please? I didn't want anything else to be emailed to me, just that particular event. I remember I was able to see the "duplicate IP address" message on the logs but I am not sure how I would setup the firewall to email me that alert.

Thanks.

Hi @sonivEX,

You can use filtered log forwarding for this.

This feature was introduced in PAN-OS 8.0

There are a couple of links out there with some more details :

Hi Kiwi,

Thanks for the help. I am currently running 7.0.4 on this PA-200 ans was strongly advised by PA not to upgrade to version 8 on that box due to performance issues. I guess I can't email filtered logs then but do you know if it is possible to then monitor the duplicate IP errors via SNMP at all? Is therean OID for that at all?

Thanks!

Hi @sonivEX,

I don't recall that there is an OID for that.

Please reach out to your local SE so they can create this feature request for you.
