We need to shutdown a PA-4020 on 3.1.5 for relocation. "request restart system" no longer works. Does anyone know the new command line command?
Thanks

Hi There,
There is no command to do a shutdown - you can just pull the power.
The command to restart the system in 3.1.5 is as per the command you gave. Maybe you're in configure mode and not in the top level CLI structure - i.e. where you enter after login.
Thanks

OK, Thanks James. I actually meant "request shutdown system". Seems odd not to have a shutdown on the firewall.
Thanks

We're not a standard Linux System using IPTables and so on
Pull the power and have no fear.
Thanks

If there are hard disks writing configs, potential jobs pending, database transactions and you pull the plug you do not risk corruption without orderly shutdown??

Normally you can indeed simply shutdown a box without any problems. Just to make sure, I would connect via SSH to the box and use 'request restart system" to make sure everything was written to the harddrive. The box will do a reboot and then I would poweroff it.
