Helenio,
The mp-logs contain management- plane files recording information pertaining to the management of the device. The db-logs contain the data-plane files which pertain to the actual user data information - sessions, policies, filtering etc. The Logs found under the Montior tab in the Web UI are the most commonly used to troubleshoot. From the CLI, these appear under the command show log. Generally the logs you were questioning are used by our engineering department for in depth troubleshooting and are not used as normal steps in the troubleshooting process.
