I have a PA-5050 and ran the "check now" for software. I am on version 5.0.10 and the only version I see for 6 is 6.0.1 (do not see 6.0.0)
When I try to download this version I get the following error message:
Details: Successfully downloaded
Preloading into software manager
The required 6.0 base image mist be loaded before this image can be loaded.......etc...
Failed to load into software manager. Please retry.
Post processing failed. Please retry.
After this prompt the file I downloaded is not on the firewall. Is anyone else having this problem and if so, did you have to use the "install from file" option for 6.0.0 first? Once you do that will all of the newer version 6 releases show up or did you have to manually install them as well? I am upgrading this weekend and want to prepare for any downloads I need so I would appreciate any information. Thanks.

When upgrading to a new major release, you'd have to download the new baseline first. So in this case you'd need PAN OS v6.0.0 in the device (even if you don't install it) and then download and install PAN OS v6.0.1 or v6.0.x
You ought to be able to see PAN OS v6.0.0 through the same check now, since you can see PAN OS v6.0.1 however, if there is a problem. perhaps you can try the upload file PAN OS v 6.0.0 manually?

If you don't see it in the GUI, SSH into the device and write " request system software download version 6.0.0"
Download 6.0.1 and install 6.0.1 afterwards.
That should be it.
