Panorama for logging/reporting ONLY

L0 Member

If I want to use panorama for extended logging and reporting functionality only, are there any settings or configuration needs that I should be aware of? Should I disable the panorama objects and templates?

Hi Jclingan,

You need following configuration details.

1. Panorama IP address configured on End firewall.

2. Add End Firewalls serial number on Panorama in Managed Devices.

3. With each policy add a Log forwarding Profile which says farward all logs to Panorama.

4. You dont need Template or Device Group config.

Let us know for additional query.

Yes, if you don't want to manage device you can disable those options that you mentioned above. Though it is not required. You just have to make sure you configured Log Forwarding under Objects to send everything to Panorama and use it under Security Policy to forward logs to Panorama.

This way all the logs that match the policy will be forwarded to Panorama. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Thanks ssharma. Must you still add the device serial numbers to panorama?
