Panorama modes

L2 Linker

Hello,

I have read about Panorama's modes. But I would like to know if Templates and Group Device's configurations are available without matter what mode is the VM/Physical device.

As I understand the documentation, the Panorama's mode only determines how logs data is stored.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

if you refer to the difference of legacy / non legacy mode: Device Groups and Templates are available independed of Panorama mode.
Note that the legacy mode is already depreciated, new 9+ installation do not give you legacy options.

If you refer to those Panorama / Management / Log Collector modes: in log collector mode you cannot configure devices.

Regards,

Alex

So, If I have one client in Management or in Panorama mode, can I configure Templates and Device Groups?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Not sure what you mean with "client". But if you deploy a Panorama VM or hardware appliance and run that device in Panorama or Management mode - yes you can configure Templates and Devices Groups.

Thanks a lot @AlexSieber.
