Hello Everyone, with 11.0 version coming out I have started to wonder when the exam will shift as well to 11.0.
I have scheduled my exam for 2nd of December but there is no mention of version for the exam.
I've been messaging with Education Support of Palo Alto and they have left me confused. They have stated that the current version is 10.0.That doesn't make sense because the instructors in PCNSE bootcamp stated the version is 10.1 and one of them took the exam and confirmed. Also they were discussing about 10.2.
To add to that, the study guide is in 10.1 which is usually a reflection of the exam version.
I messaged this to support, but they still insisted on 10.0.
Is this truly the case?

I have renewed by PCNSE two months ago and to be honest didn't saw big difference between now and the exam two years ago.
There are definitely new questions reflecting the new feature or change in behavior in the versions, but I in my personal opinion majority of the questions are related with core concept/features/behavior of Palo FW that haven't change much lately.
PanOS 11.0 is so fresh that most wouldn't event consider using it anytime soon (in the next 6 months).
It is normal for certification to lag behind. As you can imagine new trainings has to be created, materials updated, new questions, instructors needs to learn the new stuff...All of this requires time.
It make sense the exam version to correspond with the currently available training materials and below. But I don't expect any of the exams of the next 6-12months to have anything related to 11.0

Hi all,
You can find information for the PCNSE here -> https://beacon.paloaltonetworks.com/student/collection/668346-palo-alto-networks-certified-network-s....
The study guide was updated in January 2023. Normally it contains the PAN-OS version for the test, but this one does not. The exam topics blueprint was updated on February 2023. Normally when these documents are updated, that means there is a new test, but I don't know for sure.
Thanks,
Tom
