what is the best way to size an appliance to find which model fits the customer network, is there a tool or a technique for it ? ..

Hi,

Not sure if I fully understand your question... typically the requirement is to support a certain throughput, interface ports which gets you quickly to the product that would be most relevant to that deployment e.g., if requirement is to support at least 1.5Gbps of firewall throughput, then any PA-4000 series devices would do (and they are all 2U). Our other firewalls PA-500 and PA-2000 series are all 1U.

I think, he was asking, if there is a sizing tool / calc.

I usually look for the figures in the datasheets vs actual traffic load vs size of the wallet :smileysilly:

It seems that the values presented in PA datasheets are closer to reality than other manufacturers figures.
