Sharepoint Zone/ Policies

L4 Transporter

We are in the planning of creating a SharePoint Zone on the PAN. The PAN is our perimeter Firewall. Currently we use a proxy to do URL rewrite, but our SharePoint deployment is all internal. We have extensive ACLs in place for access to SharePoint  and from the SharePoint server to the rest of our network. We will be dividing our SharePoint to  external (DMZ) for externally facing, and Internally facing SharePoint sites in the near future. In the mean time, we would like to create a Sharepoint Zone on the PAN, which will be the Layer 3 interface for the Sharepoint subnet, and replace the ACLs that are done on the network with Policies on the PAN.

My question is whether anyone else out there has done a similar deployment and what their policies look like.

I have completed the policies for creating an External SharePoint zone and protecting the Internal Network. It is made up of 13 policies and a NAT rule. If anyone else is in need of what I did. I will post the setup.

I did find a nice starting document from Citrix, It is based on a Citrix/Palo Alto deployment located here:

I have created a test setup and it is working. I will post the setup when I have completed it for anyone looking to do the same thing.
