Transferring PA (already registered) license to other PA (already registered) device

L0 Member

How do I transfer one of my PA-220 license which is already registered to other PA-220 registered as well ?

I might be able to do that if I can make one available in spare and then move my already registered PA-220 license to the spare device.

Appreciate if you can write down steps and paste some screenshots.

Thanks

Hello,

I'm trying to transfer my license to another already register firewall.   It doesn't show in spare because it's not spare anymore.   I have a firewall that is registered and with the license expired, while I have another that is active but not in use, I would like to transfer this license to the one in use.

thanks,

Hi Parreno,

As far as my findings about this license transferring issue is you need to move in spare the one is with expired license before to transfer the license from the active PA not in use. it looks weird but this is the way to do this, but question is how to move a PA to the spare which is already registered. I just found two choices - Decommission & Deactivate but don't know what should we choose and where the license goes after this, in spare or somewhere else?

thank you.  I guess I'll open a ticket to see if there is a certain way to do it.

thanks,
