Upgrade flow will be depends on which version you are currently using.

If you are using 6.0.x, the step will be as follow:

1. download 6.1.0

2. download 6.1.x (6.1.1, or 6.1.3 which is the latest)

3. install 6.1.x

4. reboot the device

For bug discussion, you can refer to following too.

Re: Anyone one 6.1.2? Is it stable

Regards,

I´m using 5.0.9

Then you need to upgrade into each minor version.

1. download 6.0.0

2. download 6.0.x (optional)

3. install 6.0.0 or 6.0.x

4. reboot

5. download 6.1.0

6. download 6.1.x

7. install 6.1.x

8. reboot again

What is the recommended procedure for active passive HA cluster upgrade from 5.0.X to 6.1.X?

Upgrade passive to 6.0.X

Reboot passive

Upgrade passive to 6.1.X

Reboot passive

Failover from currently active to passive

Upgrade passive to 6.0.X

Reboot passive

Upgrade passive to 6.1.X

Reboot passive

or

Upgrade passive to 6.0.X

Reboot passive

Failover from currently active to passive

Upgrade passive to 6.0.X

Reboot passive

(now both cluster nodes run 6.0.X)

Failover from currently active to passive

Upgrade passive to 6.1.X

Reboot passive

Failover from currently active to passive

Upgrade passive to 6.1.X

Reboot passive

I'll choose second idea which is "both cluster nodes run 6.0.X".

I am afraid you are right 😞

I found this KB article:

Upgraded Device in HA Group Reports Status: "suspended (Peer version too old)"

Apparently having one node on 5.0.X and the other node on 6.1.X during the upgrade process will result in complete cluster outage.
