User dropped when uses GlobalProtect

L1 Bithead

Hello.

I have an issue when users use GlobalProtect to access internal resources (my policy is restricted by username).

PA Release: 8.1.11

GlobalProtect: 4.1.12-3

Initialy they access without any problem the whole set of resources and we see the user is identified by the User-ID.

-----------------

admin@PA1(active)> show user ip-user-mapping all | match rrodriguez

10.1.1.42                                vsys3  GP      rrodriguez                        2591583        2591583

admin@PA1(active)> show user ip-user-mapping ip 10.1.1.42

IP address:    10.1.1.42 (vsys1)

User:          unknown

From:          Unknown

Idle Timeout:  3s

Max. TTL:      6s

-----------------

If this user lets the computer for some long time, for example to grab a coffee (with the SSH connection established to the resource), when they come back, the connection is dropped and never work again. Disconnecting GlobalProtect and reconnecting again doesn't solve the issue.

The user are falling in the default deny condition.

If we check again the user-ID info, we see this

-----------------

admin@PA1(active)> show user ip-user-mapping all | match rrodriguez

10.1.1.42                                vsys3  GP      rrodriguez                        2590484        2590484

admin@PA1(active)> show user ip-user-mapping ip 10.1.1.42

No matched record

-----------------

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Regards.

Hi

Did you try to change/increase the values under:

GlobalProtect Gateway Configuration -> Agent -> Timeout Settings?

Hello.

Thanks for your response.

Actually, we checked that and those values seems ok.

  • Login Lifetime: 30 Days
  • Inactivity Logout: 3 Hours
  • Disconnect On Idle: 180 Minutes

Any other idea?

Hello Juan

Has this problem been resolved. ?

If the problem is not resolved , please provide the output of these two commands

show user ip-user-mapping-mp all

show user ip-user-mapping all
