Hi
something strange with old version of user-id agent version 4.1.6-5
the user is connected on the network lan with wire and is authenticated on the active directory the result is the user is identicated in the traffic log
If the user switch from wire connection to wifi connection the wmi probing should detect the new ip affected to user? or not?
the switching is ok if the user disconnect his windows session and reopen is windows session and now the user is well identicated in the palo. du to the modifiation of AD security log
the wmi probing seem to not working.
thank

When the IP changes but the user is same, WMI probe will kick in. When the firewall receives traffic on an interface in a zone with User Identification enabled that is from an IP address that has no user data associated with it, the firewall will send the IP to all the AD agents configured and ask them to probe it to determine the user. This request will be added to the queue along with the known IP addresses waiting to be polled. If the Agent is able to determine the user at the IP based on the probe the information will be sent back to the firewall

Hello Sir,
It depends on the WMI probing interval that you have set in the UI Agent. If the user switch from wire connection to wifi connection the wmi probing should detect the new ip , but it would happen after a certain interval. Please go through below mentioned KB article for the same.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
