VM-100 L3 subinterface responding issue

L3 Networker

Hello All,

almost a year I have production VM-100 deployed on 5.1 ESXi infrastructure. One interface is divided to 2 subinterfaces and configured like L3 with one virtual router. Policies was deployed and everything working fine until users complain that they don't have internet access. After initial troubleshooting I noticed that from PAN perspective interfaces are up and running, but if you issue arp commands for particular interfaces on pan CLI, they don't list any other mac's except they own. If you issue same arp commands from external physical switches they see any other except pan mac's for particular interfaces. Hmmm....strange, in that moment I restart VM app and after restart, everything was fine again. This is first and last time occurrence during 8 months.

I opened support case but logs don't show anything strange, except that scheduled updates failed due to general communication error. After several days case was closed until same issue showing up again, with support procedure to collect logs during the problem.

Recently we upgrade ESXi from 5.1 to 5.5 and after that same problem showing up, but now with 48 hours occurrence. Every time I need to restart VM, after interfaces are operational again. Because of short time for recovering I don't collect logs yet, but I'm curious is anyone faced with this problem on VM app?

SW version 5.0.5

Regards,

Tician
