Getting Error with SNMP Traps

L3 Networker

Hi All,

We had configured SNMP V3 to forward all the logs to SNMP V3.

Is username/Engine ID/Auth and Private Password need to be configured for SNMP v3 to work properly

When checking the Logrcvr process log I could see the below error in the Log rcvr processor log:

mp logrcvr.log 2021-10-05 16:24:48 2021-10-05 16:24:48.982 +0530 Error: snmptrapv3_func(snmptrap.c:319): Failed to send snmpv3 trap
mp logrcvr.log 2021-10-05 16:24:48 2021-10-05 16:24:48.982 +0530 Error: pan_logfwd_snmptrap(pan_snmptrap.c:1411): Error in sending log specific snmp trap for log type 0. Freeing pdu
mp logrcvr.log 2021-10-05 16:24:48 snmptrap: USM encryption error

Thank you for your post @tamilvanan

For SNMPv3 Trap, the: EngineID is optional. If you do not set it up, the Firewall Serial Number will be used as an EngineID, however Auth Password and Priv Password are mandatory. The Auth Password is used to authenticate to SNMP manager and Priv Password to encrypt Traps.

Could you set these options and try it again?

Thank you and Regards

Pavel
