Does VM Series-Trial Support VMware Workstation ?

L1 Bithead

HI Guys

I have registered and got a VM-Series Trial for 30 days from this link.

https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/vm-series-trial

I clearly understand that the guide says the Hypervisor Supported are VMware ESXI. But I want to use it in my VMware workstation.
I have downloaded ovf template and installed it on the Workstation. the installation was completed quickly but in the CLI login, I'm getting stucked.

The login doesn't work: admin/admin doesn't work. All it shows

PA-HDF Login:

Waited for a while , rebooted but not getting any solution.

So my question is , If i can work on VMware workstation? or are there any workaround to get it resorted ? In vmware workstation, I have built PA labs using VM series Images before . I don't know if this trial image has any particular restrictions!

Does anyone know any solution for this ?

@Ariq.Aziz,

Might need to boot into maintenance mode and factory reset the configuration prior to it coming up fully. The trial specifically seems to be having an issue actually booting without that step. Workstation will support the VM just fine, even if it's not officially supported.

Resting to factory default didn't work 😞

Factory reset was successful but still having the same login problem.

Hello it is supported by workstations

As you can see the login user in your image is: PA-HDF Login

This use to happen when the OS has not being loaded completely, I full recommend you to upgrade the vm resources and let the image load completely before you try to use the default credentials.

The PA-HDF Login should not appear, sometimes I have to wait for more than 10minutes and then try the default credentials many times.
