Hi all,
I'm currently experiencing an issue with my connection to the Outlook email gateway. When using Gmail as the email gateway, everything works fine. However, I encounter problems when switching to Outlook.
To test the connection from the Palo Alto firewall to the Outlook email gateway, I used my personal Outlook account. Unfortunately, the result was a "login denied" error. I attempted to authenticate using both my regular password and an app-specific password that I generated, but neither method was successful.
Please refer to the screenshots below for more details.
My questions are as follows:
1. When using a personal Outlook email, is the combination of smtp-mail.outlook.com as the email gateway and the original account password the correct configuration? Or is there anything else I might be missing for this to work?
2. What configuration differences should I expect if I use an Office 365 business email instead of a personal Outlook email?
Thank you.

Hi @zedexxx ,
As per error screen shot, looks like connectivity is failing to Connection to: smtp-main.outlook.com over the port 587.
Recommendation is to verify the with DNS looksup and intermediate devices to see if the traffic is allowed if not allowed then allow the traffic and check again.
Additionally check the route as well if above didn't help
