PA3020 EoL vs PanOS 9.1 EoL

L0 Member

Hi there,

Checking this page, https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/services/support/end-of-life-announcements/end-of-life-summary I see that the EoL for PanOS 9.1 is December 2023.

This page, https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/services/support/end-of-life-announcements/hardware-end-of-life-dat... shows the Eol for the PA3020 to be October 2024.  However it can only be upgraded to PanOS 9.1.

Does this mean that I have to upgrade my PA3020 this year to continue to eligible for software updates?

You need to be running v9.1 to be continue to receive software updates. 9.1 will continue to be supported until the hardware end-of-life date on PA-3000 series firewalls:

++ PAN-OS 9.1 will be supported on the PA-3000 Series until that product's respective hardware end-of-life date. On all other products, PAN-OS 9.1 will be supported until the date listed on the software end-of-life summary page.
