PANOS post upgrade checks

L1 Bithead

Hi All,

I wanted to ask, are there any checks to be performed on firewalls after upgrading. And should we delete previous PANOS to free space on firewall or not?

Kind Regards,

Mansoor

you should always check if everything is still working after the upgrade, so it's usually a good idea to have an overview of any critical applications that must keep working.

- check if critical apps still work, get a stakeholder to verify it for you

- go through logs to see if everything is looking 'normal' (no excessive amounts of drops suddenly for example

- verify if the device usage is normal (show running resource-monitor , show system resources)

you can't delete the OS you just upgraded from as that is still active in the inactive sysvol so you can roll back. anything older than the previous OS can be deleted to free up space
