Problems with admin accounts in high availability (active - passive).

L1 Bithead

Hi:
Problems with admin accounts in high availability (active - passive).

I have problems with the firewall administration accounts when it is in High Availability. In this case, it only lets me log in to one of the firewalls, it can be in the active or passive one, but never in both. The only user that allows logging in to both firewalls is the "ADMIN" user, which password was set on both computers before the HA fix.

Please, could you help me with what could be happening?

My firewall data:

Software version 10.2.7-h8 - Model: 440.

Thank you for your contribution.

Hello @lanchiraico

when an account fails to authenticate what error do you see in system logs under: Monitor > Logs > System ?

Kind Regards

Pavel

Hi @PavelK :

Thank you for your response, I attach the requested events as you can see with the same user "admin_pcm" I can only log in to a single firewall.

Hi Lan,

As per the logs, In the Auth fail firewall, If you see the logs it says there is no Auth Profile has configured for loding. Verify the running config is sync in both firewall.

And verify the auth profile for the account.

Hi @Edsnow :

Okay, checking the synchronization status of both firewalls I don't have any synchronization alerts.

On the other hand, if I create the administrator user in the active firewall, the same is replicated in the passive firewall, but I can only log in to one of the two.

Hi Leo,

Have you tried any test user account. Just try to create a admin account with different user name and verify is both are syncing and you are able to access it.

Edsnow

Hi @Edsnow
That's correct, I created a new administrator account, the created account is reflected in both computers, but I can only log in to one of the firewalls.

That's my problem, it only happens with the new administrator accounts I create. This doesn't happen to me with the default ADMIN account on the computer, but I can log in to both firewalls.

Hi @lanchiraico ,

Please share system logs for auth event from working and non working. with username.

Edsnow

Hi @Edsnow:

I have no record of events in the authentication field, this is because they are administrator users with whom I have problems.

In that case, Please raise a TAC case.
