Static route path monitoring using a destination within a different virtual router

L0 Member

Hi,

Is it possible to set up path monitoring for a static route using a destination IP address in a different virtual router?

My scenario is within virtual router 'A' I have a static route with a destination of a NAT range pointing to an interface to get it in to the routing table and then advertising it via BGP.

Traffic destined for the NAT IP's get DNAT'd and routed out via virtual router 'B'.

I need to monitor an IP within network 'B' so if it becomes unavailable the path monitor kicks in and withdraws the NAT range from routing table 'A'.

I can get all the routing and security policy working and carry out a ping using an interface IP on virtual router 'A' to a destination IP through virtual router 'B' it responds OK. If I enable path monitoring using the same IP's as my previous ping test the route gets withdrawn even though from CLI the ping still works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul.
