CPU for VM Panorama

L0 Member

Hello!

I have a question, if I need Panorama to manage virtual firewalls and appliances for the deployment profile, is it enough to just enable panorama?, or is it necessary to add more cpu for panorama? According to the documentation it only adds CPU for the firewalls and only enables Panorama, but I'm not sure if I need more CPU.

Hi @NG25_1 ,

It sounds like you are talking about Software NGFW Credits.  If so, then it is enough to check the Panorama box.  You do NOT need to add vCPUs.  That is what I have been told.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi @Sanjay_Ramaiah ,

Cores are a specification of the CPU hardware and vCPUs are created by the hypervisor.  With regard to Panorama, the specifications only say CPUs, which can be vCPUs.  https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/panorama/9-1/panorama-admin/set-up-panorama/set-up-the-panorama-vi...
