Register ip into DAG delayed

L3 Networker

hi all,

I noticed that everytime I push a new IP into a DAG it takes a while for it to register. sometimes it takes 30 seconds, sometimes longer. is there a way to make this into effect instantaneously ? Thanks

Hello,

That is normal behavior.  You can see the tags show up immediately in the list of tag mapping with the command:

show objects registered-ip all

But it won't show up in the actual Address Group in the GUI or CLI for up to 60 seconds.  The Firewall refreshes the address groups from the tag mapping every 60 seconds, so depending on where in that cycle the tag was added, it could appear in the address group in 1 second or 59 seconds or anywhere in between.

More information here:

https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/70/pan-os/pan-os/policy/use-dynamic-address-groups-in...

Search that page for the words: "60 seconds"

Best regards,

 -Brian
