Basically I have a laptop loan from a school for the fall term, I downloaded a game which was counter strike source which I owned to keep me busy during breaks. Cortex basically told me it was a “Virus” and then ended my internet connection, Now I can’t use the laptop for schoolwork. How do I fix this?

Hello!
Since you have a school-loaned laptop, the security software, likely Cortex, has blocked your internet access after it flagged Counter-Strike: Source as a potential threat. You cannot fix this yourself because the software is managed by the school's IT department. The only solution is to contact them directly, explain the situation, and they can remotely lift the restriction or provide a solution so you can use the laptop for your schoolwork.
