The updated installer is now an option when you create a new install package. Remember that all of your older install packages (OSX installer) will no longer work. As well, you can do a bulk upgrade of your endpoints, and monitor the upgrade via the 'Action Tracker' tab.

I created the installer and tried to upgrade manually.It installed but the exploit and malware protection is still grayed out. Should i unistall and do a clean install after that?

uninstall/re-install would be advised. Should you still have an issue, please reach out to Palo ALto Networks support.
