Add Palo alto VM into Panorama

L3 Networker

Hi, Looks like palo alto VM has no serial number. so this palo alto can be added into Panorama in home lab?

Do we have to use serial number to add PA into Panoram? Why it dont use ip address for this purpose?

Hi @kevinospf ,

You can only get a serial number with a valid auth code and in order for the vm-series to be added as a managed device, it will require the serial number.

@JayGolf Thanks for your reply!

so how can I get auth code in order to add palo alto vm into my panorama?

My pleasure @kevinospf ! To get an auth code you will need to make a purchase for a VM-series license through your account manager/sales rep/partner. I would recommend looking into getting a lab license.

@JayGolf Thanks ! I already got trial version license, so i need the second license (as you mentioned Lab license). can you tell how to buy the Lab license? and I wonder how Panorama to find the palo alto firewal via serial number instead of ip address?

Hi @kevinospf .

Does your company have an account manager, Palo representative, or partner that you are in contact with? You can make a purchase through one of them.
