Cannot discover OSPF neighbor on PA

L0 Member

Hi,

I faced a foundamental issue that my PA-VM cannot discover OSPF neighbor on Cisco vRouter. Cisco cannot discover PA either.

I use e1/2 on PA as the port to connect cisco vRouter, which is 192.168.150.1/24, and cisco router address is 192.168.150.2/24, area is 0.0.0.0 on PA and area 0 on cisco.

The cisco router can ping PA e1/2 successfully.

My configuration is really basic and simple, just configured a virtural router hung up with e1/2, and enable OSPF, area is 0.0.0.0, advertise 192.168.150.0/24. Nothing more, others are used default setting or not set.

My OSPF configuration on cisco router is okay, because I can establish adjacency between two cisco routers.

I browsed all the related configuration topic, cannot find where I should configure more. I know this is a basic and stupid issue but it stuck me for a long time. Please help.

Hi there,

In your security policy is there a explicit deny above the built-in intra-zone policy?

Have you tried creating an explicit security policy for app type ospf? At this stage it can be pretty permissive and just specify source and destination zones, worrying about neighbour IP addresses can come later...

cheers,

Seb.

Hello,

Also make sure that you cisco routers are on the same zone. 0.0.0.0 in Palo Alto is not 0 in Cisco, they should be identical.

Hi @ilic.slavisa ,

Are you having issues with setting up OSPF as well? Could you share your config details?
