Need to know  if i run this command what will it do?

the vardata-receiver (variable data receiver) is a process that does all the things the log-receiver doesn't  want to do:

it creates pcaps,

it forwards logs out (smtp/syslog/panorama/...)

It restarts the Vardata Reciever server 😉

 

I'm not sure if it has any additional duties, but it plays a hand in the pcap process. It might be more then that, but that's the only process I know of that actually uses the vardata process. 

what is Vardata server?
