Failed to install version 10.0.0 type panos

L0 Member

Hi LiveCommunity,

I'm trying to upgrade my firewall from version 9.1.15-h1 to version 10.0.0.

But when I click on install I get this error :

Failed to install 10.0.0 with the following errors.
SW version is 10.0.0
Error: Minimum disk size for upgrade is 60GB
Failed to install version 10.0.0 type panos.

The problem is that from my point of view I got enough space for that, more than 60GB.

If I run the command show system disk-space :

I can see that I got 85GB available on sdb1, but maybe I'm not looking at the right place.

How can I solve this error and upgrade my firewall ?

Some information on the firewall :

model : PA-VM

vm-mode : VMware ESXi

Thanks,

Elio

Hi @eallieri ,

This is a doc how to upgrade the disk for Panorama on ESXi -> https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000POJPCA4.  I've read it works for the NGFW also.

Thanks,

Tom

Migrating to bigger hard drive will get you a bit forward but unless this clone command changes partition sizes you will be stuck at 10.2.x with 3.8GB /opt/panrepo partition.

PANOS v11 (not yet preferred by Palo TAC) don't fit into it so you need to deploy from newer ova to get adjusted partition scheme.
