GP client fedora certificate

L4 Transporter

HI,

We are trying to go up a VPN using Global protect client in fedora device. We have read that global protect 4.x requires that the certificate be signed by a trusted CA. Our certificate is self-signed. So we have GP client version 3.1.x because we whitnk its not neccessary a certificate signed by CA.

Is this true? whats are the requisites for using GP client in linux?

thanks

Hi @BigPalo ,

Afaik, GP client 3.1.x is no longer supported since 6/23/2018:

end-of-life-summary

Check the following compatibility matrix for more information on which versions are still supported :

Where-can-i-install-the-globalprotect-app

Also, the following Linux OS are supported:

  • CentOS 7
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • Ubuntu 14.04 and later

Cheers !

Perfec Kiwi, thanks a lot.just last question:

Is it true that in version GP 4.0 only can be used certificates signed by CA? not support with selfsigned?

thanks

I am using GP version 5.0.3 with a cert created by the firewall itself and imported into Linux. P.S. Fedora will not work since they are hard coding the supported Linux distros into the GP elf binary.

you can *force* it to work... if you are determined enough
