How to determine memory in PA-500

L1 Bithead

We recently bought a PA500, and we've been annoyed at how slow it is to commit its config. We mentioned this to our SE the other day, and he explained that there was a memory upgrade available.

We're not sure if we have 1GB or 2GB of memory, and I'd like to find out - can anyone explain how to tell if we have the upgrade?

Thanks

Hello AMacaronis,

Please apply below mentioned  CLI command to identify the memory on your PAN-500 firewall.

Example: PA-500 with 2 GB RAM on the management-plane:

admin@PA-500> show system resources

Mem:   2028576k total  >>>>>>>>> It's a 2 GB Memory ,  1193104k used,

Swap:  2008084k total,        0k used

Hope this helps.

Thanks

I ran the command... the relevant lines are

Mem:   1970840k total,  1920376k used,    50464k free,    68824k buffers

Swap:  2008084k total,   165980k used,  1842104k free,   340936k cached

So should I take that to mean we have a 2GB upgrade already?

You are absolutely correct. Smiley Happy

Thanks
