'request restart dataplane'
There's a useful command to find CLI commands using 'find command keyword'
Cheers,
-Kim.

In which situation we need to restart data plane... Will there be an impact on prod traffic?

Yes it will impact the Prod traffic if you restart the data plane.

I tried the "find" command, I could not find any relevant command to restart the dataplane.
I read it should be "request restart dataplane".
I read that it could be done from the GUI, in Device -> Restart dataplane.
But i cannot find it either.
I answer myself. VM versions don't have that feature.
I guess I will have to do a full restart of the VM.

Note that "This option is not available on Panorama or PA-220, PA-800 Series, or VM-Series firewalls."
So that's why you can't find the command and you don't see the option in the WebUI.
