Is there any restriction for application to add in Policy based forwarding

L4 Transporter

Is there any specific reason that all application is not avaialbe to add in policy based forwarding.

For ex: I am trying to add "panorama" in policy based forwarding, it is not there.

I have to addd port 3978 instead of application. Is there any reason behind this.

Routing decision is made on first packet.  App-ID happens later on.

We can still do PBF for apps that we can’t identify with just one packet if we can cache them in our App-ID cache.

It’s important to take into account that the first session will not use PBF but regular routing. Once that the app is identified and cached, subsequent sessions will match the PBF rule until the cache expires.

All non-cacheable apps are not available for PBF.

Hope this helps.
