Hi.
My license expires today.
I got a new one, but it's for one month, not a year. Why wasn't my license renewed for a year?

Hi @U.Itglobal ,
Licenses don’t automatically renew or extend on their own. The duration of the new license is based on what was purchased, not the length of the previous term.
Most NGFW subscriptions are sold as fixed-term licenses (commonly 1, 3, or 5 years), but a 1-month license is often seen when the firewall is using a pay-as-you-go / consumption-based model (such as a cloud marketplace deployment), where licensing is billed monthly. It can also be issued as a temporary bridge license to avoid an expiration while a longer-term renewal is still being finalized.
Was this firewall deployed via a cloud marketplace or PAYG model by any chance? If so, the monthly term would be expected behavior.
If you were expecting something longer like a term license (1/3/5 year license), I’d recommend checking with whoever submitted the purchase order or worked with the reseller, as they can confirm what SKU and term were actually ordered and whether a longer-term license is still pending.
Hope that helps clarify things.
