From the system log, i find a log severity is Critical.

The message is 

"License for feature lcaas will expire on 2024/10/30"

 

what is lcaas ?

how can i deal with this message ?

lcaas is Logging Service.

You can check your license via CLI with following command : request license info

Here is sample output from my lab

 

> request license info

License entry:
Feature: Logging Service
Description: LAB
Serial: xxxxxxxx
Authcode:
Issued: December 18, 2023
Expires: January 05, 2025 <<< I believe this field should be 2024/10/30 on your platform
Expired?: no
Log Storage TB: 1

 

 

If you already have renewed Logging Service on the cloud, please fetch the latest.

CLI is "request license fetch"

You mean even you are not purchasing Logging Service, your platform has Logging Service license?

 

If you are surely you are not using Logging Service, you can ignore it. (but you will keep receiving alert everyday)

 

If you are using Logging Service for other service, for example; you have Prisma Access, activated Logging Service license will be applied to all devices under same CSP.

You need to check internally.

 

If your devices are under control of ASC (Authorized Support Center), ask them.

Possibly ASC mistakenly activate their Logging Service and applies to your devices (same logic as above)

I only purchase threat prevention and URL filtering license.

Oh,okay...then you don't need this license.

Just delete it from CLI

 

First, type in question mark to list all license files on your platform

delete license key ?

 

Then type in specific file name

delete license key <name>

 

 

Sample:

Hi ,

License for feature lcaas will expire I received an error, I fetched the licenses but they didn't arrive, even though the disk shows up. How can I resolve this issue?

Hi @S.Elveren ,

 

Since your license expired on June 28, the cloud log storage allocation automatically dropped to 0 TB. Even if you are seeing your local firewall hard drive ('the disk'), cloud logging will remain disabled until the license is updated.

 

If a renewal has already been purchased, please check the following:

  • Activate in CSP: Ensure your account administrator has logged into the Customer Support Portal (CSP) and explicitly activated the new license key or authorization code against this firewall's serial number.

  • Fetch Again: Once it shows as active in the Customer Support Portal, run request license fetch on the firewall CLI again to pull down the new expiration date and restore your cloud storage quota.

 

If the fetch fails, try downloading the license key from the CSP and upload it manually to your firewall.
