PA-445 lost management access

L0 Member

Hey All, thank you for those who helped me out yesterday!

I'm back with what i think is a doozy,

I tried to change the firewall's login IP from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.69.1. The problem was that the firewall already used 192.168.69.1 as its office network gateway, so we were trying to use the same IP for two different purposes. The firewall detected this conflict and showed an error: "Interface ethernet1/2 IP address is conflict with management interface IP." When I tried to save this conflicting change, the firewall's management system crashed and now it won't respond to login attempts at all.

I tried resetting it via the console but whenever i try to connect all i get is a blank screen regardless on how many times i hit enter i never get a feedback, I am also on a mac if that helps clarify anything but also trued PuTTy on PC with the same error.

Any guidance would be a great learn for me.

Hi @omar.pouerie ,

How is it going now? If you are still experiencing issues, go ahead and power cycle the firewall completely. I would give it 10 - 15 minutes to fully boot before testing management access again.

WHile the firewall is booting, I would also recommend connecting to the serial console. During the boot process, you should normally see the various sercices and processes loading. If the screen remains completely blank even during boot, that may point toward a console/adapter/settings issue.

Once the initial boot is complete, youll see a prompt like "PA-445 Login:" There might be a few prompts that pop up before that like "PA-HDF" or "PA-445". Wait until you see your firewall + Login.
