PA--820 Power Supply Voltage In (Vin) Voltage and Frequency Range

L0 Member

Hello,

I am looking for the exact specification of the PA-820 PSU Voltage and Frequency range, as I need to install the device in mobile asset where the ranges may fluctuate within certain parameters.

Due the environment that the units will be deployed in we need to better understand the tolerances of  this PSU and I am hoping that there is a test report or formal information similar to the following Bold text.

  • Voltage : 230VAC -10% / +7% = Range 207 - 246.1VAC
  • Frequency : 50Hz +/- 5% to 60Hz +/- 3% = Range = 47.5Hz to 61.8Hz

Many thanks in advance

Hi @Steve-P ,

Check out these specs.  https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/hardware/pa-800-hardware-reference/pa-800-series-firewall-specific...

Your parameters exceed those by a little.  I don't know if there is a report of anything.  You may need to open a case.

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks for the response, I had seen this and this just provides the base values and not the supported Vin or Frequency ranges, I will look into opening a test.

Thanks

Steve

Hello,

I would recommend putting in a small UPS to clean/filter the power output. I used to work for a construction company and we had many sites running on generators. UPS's were a must otherwise it would destroy the equipment we put onsite.

Regards,
