Palo Alto SNMP Item meaning

L1 Bithead

Hello,

i'm doing snmp polling to firewalls and need to know the throughput for the interfaces. Am i right to think that Interface out counters (ifOutOctets.n, 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.n) and Interface In Counters (IfInOctets.n, 1.3.6.1.2.2.2.2.1.10.n) are the items that i'm looking for? Or there is any other that i might have overlooked?

I also need the memory usage, does it correspond to Management plane memory and dataplane packet buffer (hrStorageTable, 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3)?

Thanks !!

Hi @DanielVe,

As far as I know your assumptions are correct.

These links are probably useful for you :

@wanhua,

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/10-2/pan-os-admin/monitoring/snmp-monitoring-and-traps/use-...

That's the most up-to-date link that is available for PAN-OS 10.2. The PAN-OS version doesn't really matter in regards to this documentation, but you can adjust the version as needed from that page if you truly feel you need/want to.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I changed the version to 10.2 and the link became available. But I still can't find the OID value for memory.

For the OID of the memory on the management plane and the packet buffer on the data plane, I have 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3 only.

Hi BPry,

There are OID values that contain memory, but no specific parameters.
