Queries regarding upgrade path to version 10.2.3-h4

L1 Bithead

Hi Guys, I want to upgrade my PA-5220 Firewall from PAN-OS 9.1.14-h1 up to 10.2.3-h4. But I had some confusion regarding the upgrade path. As per referred on this KB https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/customer-resources/support-pan-os-software-release-guidance/ta-...

I draft the path as below:

9.1.14-h1 (Current) upgrade to --->>9.1.16

10.0.0(download image only) -->> 10.0.12

10.1.0(download image only->>10.1.10-h1

->>10.2.3-h4 (Target)

but I was confuse for the patch 10.1, do i need to take the preferred version (10.1.10-h1) or the latest version (10.1.10-h2)?

Could you clarify on this?

Hello @AinulSafiah

thanks for posting.

Since you are not planning to stay on that version and this is only intermediate version to go to 10.2, I would go with latest version. Latest one has all the fixes in that major version.

Also, I would recommend to check below thread to see PA-52XX upgrade experience:

Kind Regards

Pavel
