RECOMMENDED NUMBER OF USERS

Good Morning Colleagues
I hope you are doing good . May i know the recommended number of  simultaneous users for the below configuration:

  • Firewall Throughput: 5 Gbps
  • Threat Prevention Throughput: 3 Gbps
  • IPSec VPN Throughput: 3 Gbps
  • New sessions per second: 50,000
  • Maximum sessions: 1,000,000

It does and it even has resources to spare. 

For most part the PA-3250 and PA-3220 also seem to match.

 

Here's a complete comparison of 3260, 3250 and 3220:

That's difficult to answer...  I don't think there's a recommended number of users. For some features there's a maximum though.

I would say as little as possible is recommended not to stress your device too much :).

 

That being said, the max number of sessions, throughput and max number of GP connections would be something to look at. 

Depending on what those users are actually doing, what kind of sessions are being used, what applications are being used, how much decryption is going on and a lot more comes into play to give an idea.
