After reboot getting fixed, specific reason behind this behaviour ?

You might be experiencing something that is fixed in PAN-OS 7.0.2 and 6.1.7.

 

In response to a fragmentation issue, virus patterns are split into smaller chunks to reduce the possibility of memory allocation failure.

 

If you are already running these or newer PAN-OS versions then I suggest to open a ticket with TAC for analysis.

That article is not avialble to the public. That is an internal issue.

 

Most of these cases are resolved by restarting the data plane. Not the greatest solution, but if you are having issues, that is what you have to work with.

 

request restart dataplane

 

you can also use the webui or just restart the appliance.
