URL Filtering Rule-Allowed Users to websites stops working for a few seconds.

L1 Bithead

Hi Guys

I have a problem,i set up URL filtering to block users from certian catogories and linked it to my security rule.-Works great.

Created new URL filter to allow Management to catogories which is blocked, created new Security rule and linked new URL Filter-Also works, but then every few hours or so the Allowed rule gets bypassed and Allowed catogories are blocked for the "Allowed" domain users.

So allowed User would be on youtube and al of a sudden it blocks youtube,i check the firewall monitor it just skips the allow rule like its not identifying the domain user, after few seconds it works again, goes on like this the whole day.

Am i overlooking something?

Thanx

Hi @Johnny_Swart ,

I believe this article has a resolution for an inconsistent domain prefix.

Maybe it can help you:

Hi @Johnny_Swart ,

Sounds like your IP to user mapping might have an issue.

Have you checked if the ip-user-mapping is still there when it's not hitting the correct rule ?

Hi Kiwi,Yes i can still see the ip-user-mapping,but the domian changes,so it would be mydomain\johnnys and when its not working it will show mydomain.co.za\johnnys.It still shows the IP.

Not sure why it changes or if it matters?

And its very rondom, one day it would work mostly without problem next day every hour or so it happens..
