What hypervisor are you using ?
In order to deploy a VM-Series firewall you must be familiar with VMware and vSphere, including vSphere networking, ESXi host setup and configuration, and virtual machine guest deployment. Here's the PA-DOC on set-up-a-vm-series-firewall-on-an-esxi-server
Setting up VMware workstation? You might want to check out the following guide from Infosec Pat on Youtube which is just one of many you can find. Doing a quick search you can find similar guides for VMware Fusion, Virtuabox and more hypervisors.
