Why is the notification "Globalprotect is running" shown on Android?

I'm using an Android device.

It is not actually running, but it appears in the notification tray as running. The badge is also displayed in the app, but it is not connected to the VPN even after running the app.
Why on earth is this? Badges bother me.

It's very annoying. Please let me know the answer!

I've been having this same issue for months nows. I have to disable notifications because this is so annoying. When can we hear back to advise when this will be rectified?

Don't believe me, check out all the reviews on the Play store. Been happening since previous versions of Android. And the last update hasn't been since June '22. Next step is to reach out to my IT support to file a ticket.
