While in Connected Standby (Win10 Sleep), Will Global Protect Reconnet after internet outage?

L0 Member

Here is the scenario:

  1. Global Protect Client 5.2.5 installed.
  2. Internet Connection is hardwired via USB adapter.
  3. Global Protect is connected.
  4. Computer goes to "Connected Standby" aka Modern Standby aka Sleep
  5. Internet drops, (IE someone resets their home router, or internet provider does maintenance)
  6. Internet comes back online.
  7. Global Protect disconnected during the "Outage"

Will Global Protect be able to reconnect prior to waking from "Connected Standby"?  /  Will Global Protect reconnect automatically during "Sleep"?

From my tests, the answer is no, it reconnects when the computer comes out of sleep but I want to know if this is normal behavior.

When device wakes from sleep mode the client tries to reconnect to the Gateway on its own.

Yes this is a default behaviour.
