Hello PANCasters and welcome back. In today’s episode we have Kim with us to talk to us about Palo Alto Networks LIVEcommunity. Welcome Kim.

So to start with, what is LIVEcommunity?
 
Kim:
Palo Alto Networks LIVEcommunity is an online space where users of Palo Alto Networks products can come together. It's a go-to resource forKim Wens brings over 20 years of experience in network security, with the last 13 spent at Palo Alto Networks. As a Solutions Engineer in Palo Alto Networks' LIVEcommunity, he helps customers find solutions, contributes content, and moderates the forum. His CISSP certification highlights his expertise in information security and his dedication to protecting critical information assets.Kim Wens brings over 20 years of experience in network security, with the last 13 spent at Palo Alto Networks. As a Solutions Engineer in Palo Alto Networks' LIVEcommunity, he helps customers find solutions, contributes content, and moderates the forum. His CISSP certification highlights his expertise in information security and his dedication to protecting critical information assets. customers, partners, and cybersecurity professionals to connect, share knowledge, and find solutions to their security challenges.

The community has a whole range of resources that customers and Authorized Support Centers (ASC) can totally take advantage of. But, a lot of customers and ASCs tend to stick to just one specific site, not really realizing that there’s so much more helpful content out there that could really enable and empower them even more.

I’d like to break down all the different support resources available on LIVEcommunity, what they do, and how customers and ASCs can fully tap into them—and even subscribe for updates.

And if you’re already an expert, now’s the time to share your knowledge and really help out the community!

Let’s start by mentioning the search feature first.  It’s a great way for users to self serve and find solutions. As you start typing your query the search feature will automatically propose related articles/solutions from KB, Techdocs and LIVEcommunity.

Welcome Guide and the FAQ page


The Welcome Guide in the Palo Alto Networks LIVEcommunity is, designed to make onboarding as smooth as possible for new users. It’s got super helpful navigational articles and a 10-step guide that’ll help you quickly learn how to navigate the community, engage with peers, and find the info you need. This resource really helps cut down your onboarding time, boosts your confidence, encourages you to get involved, and even helps prevent common mistakes. All of this means you’ll be communicating more effectively and solving problems faster.


Now, the FAQ Page in the Palo Alto Networks LIVEcommunity is another essential resource you’ll want to check out. It’s great for helping you navigate and really get the most out of the platform. You’ll find clear explanations, troubleshooting advice, and tips on how to engage better, making it easier for you to maximize your experience in the community—whether you’re brand new or just exploring specific features.

Great. Now that we have been onboarded, how do we continue to grow in our knowledge and adoption of PAN products and services?

The Education Services area in the Palo Alto Networks LIVEcommunity provides essential resources for enhancing cybersecurity skills and knowledge, including training courses, certification programs, webinars, workshops, and study materials. These offerings help users secure networks, endpoints, and cloud environments, improve their security posture, advance their careers, and better protect their organizations from cyber threats. 


The PANCast™  podcast from Palo Alto Networks is a valuable resource for actionable cybersecurity insights, available on various platforms. Users might be tuning in on this PANCast for the first time but they can find info related to all the previous episodes and even submit ideas in this area. All these episodes feature expert guests covering diverse topics, it provides practical advice and opportunities for listener engagement. Whether you're a cybersecurity professional or just interested in the field, PANCast helps you stay informed and involved with the latest cybersecurity developments. It enhances your understanding of cybersecurity, improves your use of Palo Alto Networks products, and keeps you updated on industry trends.

The Tools area in the Palo Alto Networks LIVEcommunity is essential for optimizing the use of Palo Alto Networks products. One standout tool is Expedition, which automates and simplifies the migration of firewall configurations from other vendors. Not exactly ON the LIVEcommunity, but the LIVEcommunity YouTube channel area offers a wealth of video resources that are valuable for Palo Alto Networks customers. It helps customers stay informed, learn effectively, and navigate support resources efficiently, ultimately contributing to better product utilization and issue resolution.


Fuel User Group is a community for Palo Alto Networks technology users. It's perfect for cybersecurity and IT professionals interested in Palo Alto Networks' products and services. Membership is free and offers access to expertise and connections with experts and peers. The group has local chapters worldwide for knowledge sharing and networking. Plus, they provide a FUEL VIRTUAL TEST LAB to practice using Palo Alto Networks' next-generation firewalls. Join Fuel User Group to expand your network, enhance your knowledge, and get hands-on experience.

I had not realised there were so many valuable resources available that we could use at different stages to determine what we needed.

I must mentally note these different categories as it helps me know which areas are relevant when I need them.
