Once the custom URL Category is created, apply the custom category to a URL filtering profile:

  1. Navigate to Objects -> Security Profiles -> URL Filtering.
  2. Add or modify an existing URL Filtering profile.
  3. Under Categories, the newly created category will be listed for you to apply the desired Site Access action.

Apply the custom URL Category:

  1. Navigate to Policies -> Select the desired Security Policy Rule.
  2. Within the Security Policy go to the Actions tab and select the appropriate URL filtering profile within the URL Filtering profile setting.
  3. Additionally, you can also apply custom URL categories directly within a Security Policy Rule -> Service/URL Category.

How to Implement Custom URL Categories:

When managing web traffic, you might face basic issues, such as trusted websites being inadvertently blocked, or more complex scenarios, such as needing to allow access to specific subdomains or URL paths. Creating custom URL categories allows you to tailor your security settings to address these specific needs, enhancing the precision and effectiveness of your web traffic management.
