Firewall Rule Cortex XDR

L0 Member

Hello, I want to ask, I created a rule for blocking connections via port 139 as shown in the attached image. But why is it that when I test the connection to port 139 it still works and isn't blocked?Screenshot_123.png

Hi @PoltakMarbun ,

Thank you for writing to live community. Host firewall rule implementation is a 4 step process to follow:

  1. Host Firewall Rule group
  2. Host firewall rule
  3. Adding host firewall rule group to host firewall extensions profile in block mode
  4. Adding the host firewall profile to an extension policy rule

Assuming, that you have done all of the above, you might want to check quickly if the rule is applied to your test endpoint or not. If yes, then possibly it is an issue and you might want to open a support case with our Technical support team for investigation and break-fix if any.

Hope this helps!
