Can't authenticate GlobalProtect Satellite to my Portal, get "Insert satellite info failed" error message

L0 Member

hi all,

as described, i keep getting this error message when trying to authenticate a new satellite to my LSVPN network. it's the first time i get this, all other satellite authenticate with no issue. when i enter the username and password for the local accounts i've created in my gateway/portal firewall, it's rejected. and then in the Monitor logs i get the enrtry below.

what could be the issue ? i've tried using another public ip, a different local account, manually adding the serial number to the portal...nothing

Hi @D.Sine ,

Can you confirm which PAN-OS versions you're running on both portal and satellite ?

Note that there was a change of default behavior in PAN-OS 10.1 for satellite authentication:

Kind regards,

-Kim.

Hi There i'm runnin 11.2 on the portal/gateway, and 10.1.3 on the satellites. I don't have issues with the others, just this specific one. In the end i used another firewall in our stock to move forward, but i'd like to get to the bottom of this
