Hi all.

Is it support ECMP protocol from PAN??

I can’t find whether ecmp protocol support from datasheet and knowledge base.

does PA has any other similar protocol if not support ecmp??

Please refer to below URL for ECMP.

Hi Eugene,

ECMP is not a protocol, per se, but a way to allow multiple links chosen from the routing table to be installed in the forwarding table.  Then some sort of algorithm is used to load share traffic between both links.

The Palo Alto Networks firewall does not support ECMP at this time.  Only a single best path is installed in the forwarding table from the routing table.

Hi Kelly.

Thanks for your answer.

Actually, one of my prospective customer wants to configure with ECMP, if it possible.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Eugene.

You can't even do an ECMP equivalent, just policy based forwarding.  Can you monitor for track-ip like scenarios to fail default routes, tunnel routes etc so you can dual-home it though?

Happy news, ECMP is added now in PanOS 7
